
Tara (Lenhart) Rego, Owner
Tara has been employed by the Pawtucket School Department for the past 17 years. As a certified classroom teacher, she has experience working with all levels of elementary school children. Her current role is as a kindergarten special educator. Tara holds a BA from Providence College and is state certified to teach both regular education and special education.

Bradford Rego, Owner
Brad is currently employed as a Vice President of Financial Reporting at Citizens Bank. He has spent his professional career working in a variety of roles that primarily focus on operations and corporate training. He graduated with a BA from Brandeis University. Brad and Tara have 2 daughters, one of which attended Little Scholars Preschool.

MaryAnn Peterson, Teacher
MaryAnn has over 20 years of experience in a preschool environment. She has held a variety positions including teacher, head teacher, administrator, education coordinator and director. Currently she serves as a Pre-K teacher. She oversaw the Parent Advisory Council in the role of Faculty Coordinator. MaryAnn holds a BS in Human Services from Springfield College.

Nancy has over 25 years experience working with children in a preschool environment. She previously worked at The Childrens Place, which is now known as Little Scholars Preschool. She has been professionally trained in the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards. Nancy serves as a 3 year old classroom teacher. In her free time she enjoys running, kayaking, the beach and spending time with her grandchildren.

Claire, known as “Nan” to the children, is a volunteer helper at Little Scholars Preschool. She is the mother of owner Tara (Lenhart) Rego. As a retired elementary school teacher, she has over 30 years of experience working with children in a classroom setting. She holds a BA in Elementary Education. When she is not volunteering her time at the preschool she enjoys spending time with family, friends and her 5 grandchildren.

Jennifer has over 15 years of experience in a preschool environment. She holds a bachelor's degree from Southern Vermont College. Also, she graduated with high honors from CCRI with a degree in Early Childhood. She is Lead Teacher Certified. She had previously worked at The Childrens Place, which is now known as Little Scholars Preschool.

Kate Capello, Teacher
Kate discovered her passion for teaching while working in the childcare center at her high school. Since then, Kate has received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rhode Island. She has continued her experience working with children by becoming a nanny and as a Teacher Assistant here at Little Scholars. Kate is now one of our Preschool Teachers. In her free time she enjoys theater and spending time with her husband and teenage daughter.

Michelle loves being a part of children’s development and helping to start their young lives on the right path with the knowledge and skills they need for life. She went to college for education, and earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Leadership at Wheelock College in Boston. Michelle has worked as a teacher, education specialist and as a Director for KinderCare Learning centers for the past 12 years. When she is not at the school she is spending time with her husband, Ben, and three year old son, Oliver.
