Ms. Tanner's class worked on the letters Q and G, the colors silver and gold and the star shape. The children made a family present and gift bag. They also participated in a family project whereby a blank gingerbread cutout was sent home and then returned to school in disguise! Gingerbread playdough was used to create reindeers. The class received daily visits from their scout elf, Jingle McSprinkles. Jingle McSprinkles taught the children many valuable lessons that included problem solving and being kind to others.
Mrs. Oldham's class had a Santa's workshop in their room. They wrapped presents and made ornaments to work on their fine motor skills. The science curriculum included making peppermint playdough. The children learned about the holiday of Hanukkah. They played the dreidel game and made a dreidel out of a marshmallow and Hersey kiss. They also painted a dreidel with water colors. The children continue to practice their names and letter recognition. They continued learning about the letters C, O, Q in the alphabet museum. The children brought in great examples of the letters for show and tell.
To cap off the month, the children were paid a special visit from Santa and enjoyed a holiday party!
